I have used crows and ravens in my work on and off for many years. There were a lot of crows that would visit my back yard when I was a kid living in Florida and these large, loud, black birds were so interesting to me. Because of their black feathers they appear like a void in the space around them. I also like that other people see them as powerful and mystical.

I have continued the painting over the edge and onto the sides of the canvas so the this piece does not need to be framed.
