Addison Paige #42 A World Almost Whitewashed

This is one of those paintings that I struggled with for so long trying many
different techniques and ideas out on it but when I was about to give up on it
and completely gesso over it I decided not to waste all the under
painting but instead let the complexity of color and line peek through the
canceling layer of white. The depth that this created gives the viewer
something new to find each time they look at it. It has a wonderful layering of
delicate wispy brush strokes that excites me so much. I think of this painting as bring covered with a veil of secrecy.
I have continued the painting over the edge of the gallery wrapped canvas so
that this painting does not require framing.
