Addison Paige #23 The Signature of All Things

I was reading Elizabeth Gilbert's far sweeping novel "The Signature of All Things" when I created this painting. I don't believe it is so much about the book as the feelings I was experiencing while reading it. I also wanted to try a painting that was mostly about the drawing and less about the use of a lot of color. In the end it looked like a contraption created to balance different elements that then got ensnared by rapidly growing plants.

I have continued the painting over the edge of the gallery wrapped canvas so that this painting does not require framing.
