Addison Paige #135 A Deep and Dark Storms Suddenly Arrived
#135 42" x 48" x 1 1/2" Acrylic and Charcoal on Canvas 2015
In North Carolina summer can bring afternoons and evenings where sudden and violent storms pop up out of no where and drench the landscape. I have always loved the excitement of an in coming thunder and lighting storm and how dramatic the scene can be of the big thick dark clouds rolling towards me. I am however grateful that I have not had to experience the danger of an accompanying tornado which do happen from time to time. In this painting the red lines represent the warnings that are issued ahead of bad weather and the blue rings are bits of man made items caught in violent winds.
This painting has been continued over onto the deep gallery wrapped edges of this canvas so that this painting does not need to be framed.
