Addison Paige #111 Gravity Removed
#111 36" x 48" Acrylic and Charcoal on Canvas 2014
I wanted some order in a painting for a change so I created clearly separated sections in this piece. I still broke these borders with the drawn lines. I have always worked with the idea of breaking rules, breaking borders and implying that there is something beyond the edge of my canvases, that what I paint is never contained within the margins of a canvas. This is related to the idea of an ever expanding universe.
I have continued the painting over the edge of the gallery wrapped canvas so that this painting does not require framing.

Addison Paige #51 Waiting for Hurricane Arthur
#51 36" X 36" X 1
7/8" Acrylic, ink and charcoal on canvas. 2014
This painting was created over several days when is was very stormy outside my
studio and a hurricane was not far off the North Carolina coast. Most of my
paintings have the element of wind expressed in the brush strokes, this
paintings adds the element of seawater and the destruction of man made
structures.
I have continued the painting over the edge of the gallery wrapped canvas so
that this painting does not require framing.

Addison Paige #49 Continuous Motion Contraption No. 1
#49
36" x 72" x 1 7/8" Acrylic, ink and charcoal on canvas. 2014
This painting reminds me of whirligigs that are made in the North Carolina
countryside by outsider artists. As with most of my paintings the wind plays a
part in the brush strokes.
I have continued the painting over the edge of the gallery wrapped canvas so
that this painting does not require framing.
